Abstract | Financial Institutions should be founded on fundamentals of ethical code and values that drive core business practices essential for their sustainable development. The study evaluates the ethical climate and its impact on corporate reputation of two largest banks of India - State Bank of India i.e., a public sector bank and ICICI Bank i.e., a private sector bank through an ethical climate and corporate reputation questionnaire. A descriptive design used empirical research to investigate the ethical climate through a sample size of 250 employees from both banks in the tri-city region of Chandigarh. The study provides a comparison on the ethics climate in the public and private sector bank and assists to find some common factors that affect the reputation of banks that is essential for sustainable growth. |
