Abstract

The purpose of the present paper is to explore the perception of the government and private school teachers‟ towards their organizational commitment. Design/methodology/approach- The descriptive research design was used and the simple random sampling technique was adopted in selecting the 340 school teachers‟ working in the private and government schools‟ of Chennai district. Findings- The hypotheses were tested and the results of the z test revealed significant differences among the gender and the type of school the teachers were working. And further, the results of ANOVA revealed that the education levels had a significant difference in their organizational commitment levels. Practical implications- Based on the study, the results implied that the commitment of the teachers‟ ultimately shapes the behavior of students‟ and plays a significant role and a vital partin bringing a positive change in the society.
