Abstract

Digital Image processing will takes place an important vital role in various applications, to transmit the larger size of the image, hugebandwidth is required; instead of using the huge amount of bandwidth, the image must be compressed, and then should send viatransmission medium with less bandwidth, that will be very fast due to reduction of bits and bytes of the image data with or withoutlosing the some parts of information. When we do compression, we must look in to the some important parameters, they are compressionratio (CR), peak to signal Noise Ratio (PSNR), mean square error (MSE) and bits per pixel (bpp), the image compression has numerousapplications they are, natural images, medical images, satellite images, forensic images, remote sensing and those images are applying into the various coding techniques, then we have to achieve the better performance. This paper outlines the comparison between thevarious methods applied in error free compression such as predictive coding method, transform coding method, wavelet method.
