Abstract

Implementation of resilient power line management system has been a challenge ahead of us as it takes much time to identify and rectify the power cut/ damage in transmission line. Hence, there is an immediate need to address these problems with a real time data-driven solution and system with decision making capabilities. This paper proposes a solution to monitor the health and condition of over-head electricity transmission lines in real-time and is a best-fit model to address and resolve these problems, in specific. This paper offers an insight to the creation of a smarter network of transmission lines, in order to acquire real time transmission data and monitoring it efficiently. This solution also includes a smart way to monitor the health of the transmission lines, without much complexity. This task, achieved by an Internet of Things (IoT) system, consists of controllers and sensors, deployed in various scales, effectively to manage any shortcomings in the system at both macro and micro levels of power transmission.
